Djurgården canal

A waterside route east from Djurgårdsbron, following the green canal corridor beyond the busiest museum entrances.

Start here

At the eastern side of Djurgårdsbron, by the waterfront path.

Follow the canal corridor east and return from the mapped turnaround.

Getting there

Walk along Strandvägen or use the Djurgården tram connections.

Before you go

Stay on public paths beside the water. Bridge junctions and museum approaches may be busy.

Norr Mälarstrand

A central waterfront run west from the City Hall side of Kungsholmen towards Rålambshovsparken.

Start here

On the waterfront west of Stockholm City Hall.

Follow Norr Mälarstrand west towards the park and return along the water.

Getting there

Walk across to Kungsholmen from the central station area.

Before you go

The promenade is shared with walkers. Slow down at café terraces and road crossings.

Årstaviken

A run along Södermalm’s southern shore, below the neighbourhood streets and beside the bay.

On the waterside path south of the Eriksdalsbadet area.

Follow the northern shore of Årstaviken west and return before making a full circuit of the bay.

Getting there

Walk downhill from Skanstull towards the bay.

Some paths are narrow and shared with bikes. Watch your footing on wet or icy sections.
